Role - Principal Engineer (Hybrid) Porto

As the Director of Engineering at Inventory Planner by Sage, I lead a growing team of 6 individuals. Wondering about my management style? What part of the business will I be working in?
You'll be working on Inventory Planner by Sage, a SaaS platform that helps e-commerce retailers forecast demand for their products, purchase new stock from their suppliers based on our forecasts, and optimise their cashflows. We are one of the most highly rated apps on the Shopify app store (and beyond).
Inventory Planner by Sage is built using PHP, Vue.js, and MongoDB. Our software is architected for a multi-server, scalable environment. You'll be working on the entire stack. Don't worry if you're not familiar with some parts of the stack. You'll pick it up in no time.
Key Responsibilities:
Your focus?
• Collaborate within a focused agile team to enhance features, prototype applications, optimize our SaaS platform, and develop or integrate tools.
• Lead analysis, design, and maintenance of solutions aligned with Sage's marketplace needs.
• Ensure thorough preparatory analysis for team deliverables.
• Demonstrate a visible learning mindset and inspire junior engineers.
• Actively contribute to architectural discussions for system improvements and technical debt management.
• Perform directed tasks to meet business needs.
• Engineers at this level must be able to collaborate and communicate with less experienced developers and take guidance from architects to improve the quality and security of our technology stack.

Your first 90 Days
• Week 1: Mix of hands-on introduction to the Inventory Planner codebase and getting your development environment set up, and self-directed learning from our documentation and by experiment with the product in a sandbox environment.
• Week 2: Get your first real task to work on. You'll be assigned a mentor from the team to help you work on it and guide your solution. This will also introduce you to our CI/CD workflows
• Weeks 3-8: Work with our Quick Reaction Force to work on some cases reported by Customer Support. This will introduce you to all areas of the product.
• Week 9 onward: We'll integrate you into one of our teams based on your preferences and strengths. Welcome on-board!
