Sales Operations and Compensation Director

Job Description:

As the Sales Operations and Compensation Director for North America, you will have a vital role in creating and managing plans to achieve regional strategic and revenue goals for North America and ensuring fair and competitive compensation for the sales team. This role provides strategic leadership of sales operations and quota/commissions teams directly supporting the regional sales model. This role supports inside, direct, indirect, and retail sales organization, providing ownership of channel go to market strategy, and analytics supporting the business. This role is responsible for the identification and dissemination of best practices across the entire sales operating model. You will work closely with VP NA GTM Performance & Execution and sales leadership to ensure all operational components are in place for sales strategy to be executed within system and infrastructure capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership to the sales operations team, supporting all internal and external sales teams and senior leadership.

• Work closely with sales leadership to ensure all operational components are in place for sales strategy execution.

• Develop and implement sales compensation strategies and plans to align with Sage NA goals and objectives.

• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, develop and apply a deep understanding of the business to assess reporting/analytics, prioritize initiatives, determine the impact of actions.

• Work closely with sales, finance, and HR teams to design and administer sales incentive programs that provide market-competitive pay, reinforce sales organization strategy, and align with business and sales organization objectives.

• Ensure the equitable assignment of sales force quotas and the optimal allocation of financial objectives to all sales channels and resources.

• Monitor and analyze sales compensation data to drive insights and improve sales performance.

• Lead and mentor a team of sales compensation and sales operations professionals.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, finance, or a related field.

• 5+ years of relevant sales operations experience.

• 5+ years of proven leadership responsibility.

• 10+ years of prior sales support and/or sales experience in a software environment.

• Strong leadership skills to manage and direct the sales operations and compensation team.

• Strong knowledge of sales compensation principles and practices.

• Aptitude for addressing compensation challenges and providing solutions.

• Advanced expertise in Excel and report creation/generation.

• Ability to translate data into actionable insights.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across departments.
